For the 25/26 winter season both Ikon Pass and Epic Pass have added to their Alpine rosters. Here's what's new.
Ikon Pass
Ischgl is one of the places you can ski across a national border (Cross-border skiing), in this case between Austrian Ischgl and Swiss Samnaun. With a nod to the area's smuggling past you can even follow a smuggler's trail on the slopes between the two countries.
The ski area is high, big and gets great snow, while the après is known for being among the most fun in the Alps.
Ischgl is close to Zurich, so international access is straightforward, and you can add on exploration of Zurich's Old Town, food walking tours, tours of a watch factory and much more.
Our offer on the Ikon Pass allows you to save up to $200 per person on an Alpine trip when buying your 2025/25 pass through us: Ikon Pass
Epic Pass
The Epic line-up has been significantly bolstered, with several high-profile additions.
Zell am See/Saalbach is one of the biggest areas in Austria, but also one of the prettiest. Zell am See has a lakeside setting and horseshoe mountain rising above, giving access to scenic slopes. You can also easily ski the extensive and linked Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn ski circuit. There is also a glacier at over 10,000 feet on the Kitzsteinhorn, for guaranteed snow.
Après is off the chart in this region, but there are also fantastic hotels and restaurants. The area is just a stone's throw from Salzburg, so mixing skiing with some Sound of Music locations is a definite possibility.
The Zillertal stretches from close to Innsbruck up to glacial heights. Mayrhofen is a large valley town with a vibrant center, lots to do and great entertainment options, so it's ideal for mixed groups of skiers and non-skiers. Skiing takes place high above the town.
The valley stretches all the way to the end of the road at Hintertux. From here you can head up to one of the biggest skiable glaciers in the Alps - one with some challenging terrain that stays open most of the year.
Nearby Innsbruck and Munich provide city attractions such as Christmas markets, great restaurants, history and architecture.
Sölden, in the Ötztal, is high with great vertical, glacier skiing, and a pretty cool 007-themed lift station. Add to that incredible après and the high slopes of nearby Obergurgl to explore, and you have a great new addition to the Epic European selection.
Off the slopes wellness is a huge draw around these parts, and the Aqua Dome is an astonishing spa of dreams down in the valley.
The final new destination on Epic Pass is an off-the-beaten-path gem in the snowy Vorarlberg, close to St. Anton. Known as Silvretta Montafon, it's a collection of small villages with a decent-sized linked ski area, that goes reasonably high. Perhaps the biggest reason some may find to visit is the lack of other English-speakers and traditional Austrian ambience.
It's one to think about if you're planning an Epic road trip across several destinations. If you'd like to get more information on how to do this, or help and advice putting it together then please reach out.
