Accommodations

Where you stay is crucial to the enjoyment of your trip, and there are often so many choices and unknowns which make picking the right place a challenge.

We use our first-hand knowledge of our favorite destinations to make sure you are where you want to be, whether that's in the heart of town or away from it all.

We work with you to find places with the right style, comfort level and facilities so that you have everything you want.

We work with places that range from simpler, family-run hotels, to some of the finest hotels in the world, but what they all have in common is a genuine love of hospitality and a wish for you to have the best time while staying with them.

Ratings

There isn't one standard rating system used by the Alpine countries, and often star ratings are given for fulfilling an arbitrary facilities checklist, which doesn't take into account the hotel's ambience, the warmth of the welcome, whether the bartenders make you feel at home, the selection at breakfast or the water pressure in the shower - the sort of things that can make you really enjoy (or otherwise) a stay.

We use our experience of rating hotels over the past two decades to give a subjective score from 1 to 6, where 1 might be a mountain refuge you are staying in on a ski tour, where facilities are minimal, and 6 would be a hotel with every conceivable comfort, delivered by a professional, charming team. The scores are based upon both tangible things like the number of restaurants, as well as the less tangible such as how kind the staff are. While it gives a guide to start discussions on where you might like to stay, we will work together to narrow down the best fit for you.

Types of lodging

We offer simple bed and breakfasts, international chains, such as Marriott, Four Seasons and InterContinental, and wonderful local hotels that add character to your trip.

We can also arrange mountain refuges you can reach on a ski tour, luxurious private chalets where all of your food is included that are perfect for family gatherings, and even sleeper trains to get you to the mountains.
